Distributed by Buegeleisen & Jacobson, a New York based musical instrument firm, the Victoria brand (perhaps paying tribute to Queen Victoria who passed away in 1901) mostly utilized NJ's Oscar Schmidt for production of the line. This example is not dissimilar to Washburn mandolins in some respects. The bowlback body features ribbed rosewood construction, with a bound skirt, and fully bound spruce top with thick bands of marquetry trimming the top; inset tortoise pickguard with floral pattern inlaid in pearl, with bound oval soundhole w/ matching marquetry rosette; equipped with Waverly cloud tailpiece with engraved cover; numerous top cracks present, with lots of surface wear, and reglued rib separations on the back. The mahogany neck is fully bound (past rough reglue job), with slightly bowed pearwood fingerboard which boasts pearl inlay down the board including Saturn on the third fret; thing original frets present with moderate wear. Frontally bound peghead with Victoria inlaid in pearl on face, with engraved back plate "Victoria"; lots of wear on back of neck, with past heel crack repair at base.
