Completely unusual, this is an unsigned open back with non-standard appointments; the thin metal rim has an 11" diameter w/ thin rolled brass tonering silver-soldered to edge, internal shiplap constructed oak "bracket band" for nut ends, and strange bone tailpiece. The neck is quite notable, made from mahogany, it features a deep and simple carved heel, metal and pearl inlay, and fantastic elevated & carved nuts on peghead and fifth; though not completely a wall-hanger, there is some bow to the neck, and we speculate that some of this banjo's unique appointments would have to be modified for increased playability.
