A nicely built Silvertone branded A style mandolin, likely made by Kay in the mid 1950's. These Silvertones are generally impressive, as a nice vintage USA built instrument with some simple appointments. A nice chop, this mandolin would impress any seasoned player, at a reasonable price for even a beginner to the mando. Laminate build, with a light gloss finish - this example comes to us in great cosmetic and very playable condition. 14" Scale length, the setup is nice with low action and a very straight neck. All-in-all, it appears that this mandolin was only very lightly used, showing no real fret wear in its original frets. It is outfitted with very nice Kluson Deluxe tuners all with original buttons. Comes with the original chipboard case.
