Very clean S. S. Stewart Special Thoroughbred model featuring a spun-over 10.5" rim assembly from the late 19th century, with daisy heel carving, shiny rim, and Elite tailpiece. All metal hardware on rim original including patent neck adjustment arm, and ferrule; dowel stick bears Stewart stamps and serial number (matches rim); Stewart plaque present on side of dowel, Special Thoroughbred plaque on interior of rim with very intact horse sticker inside too; plating is shiny, but does have some areas of wear/tarnish; added wire armrest. Moderate relief present in the 26-1/4" scale cherry neck; ebony fretboard w/ diamond inlay pattern, daisy/flora relief heel carving, with moderately worn probably later frets (still intonate well), ebony nut, fancy pearl and wire inlay on peghead, equipped with original Champion friction pegs; some light dings and scratches on back of neck, with some binding roughness on treble side of neck. Comes with chipboard hard case.
