Well-executed conversion to five string, utilizing the original rim assembly from a Style Four tenor banjo originally produced by Gibson in 1924. The 10.5" diameter pot features the earlier tube-type tonering and flange, with a grooved tension hoop, armrest and engraved tailpiece; all metal parts are silver plated per specifications, and show notable tarnish throughout; missing "trap-door" type hinged resonator back; gold oval Gibson logo present. The 26-1/4" scale length reproduction neck is of flamed maple w/ center lamination, has a large pointed peghead w/ The Gibson in small slant script, with abalone fleur-di-lis, and pearl position dot markers; 1-3/16" wide at the nut; equipped with reverse gear Waverly "Eggplant" tuners. Some cosmetic finish checking present (notably on peghead overlay), with a few dings on the heel cap as well.
