From Eric Clapton to Larry Carlton, Robben Ford to John Scoffield, Richie Blackmore to Robbie Krieger, it's no wonder the Gibson ES-335 has become one of the most iconic, sought after guitars for players and collectors alike. This Norlin era, 1982 ES-335 is in great playing shape - less a headstock repair, a refret and swapped pickups. This double-cut, fully bound instrument features the classic natural finish, and can go from Marty McFly to Woman tone with ease. Laminate Maple construction, this body shows only mild finish wear present, very slight binding shrinkage, along with a slight pressure crack near the output jack - all structurally and fully stable. Gold speed knobs. As mentioned the pickups have been swapped with RS Guitarworks humbuckers - providing plenty of definition and huge sound. The neck has the all too common repaired headstock - that was expertly done, with only a small hairline looking crack visible and hardly noticeable to the touch. The neck is straight yielding a nice playable low action measuring 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret. As previously mentioned, the guitar was re-fretted at one point, which has taken the nibs off the binding. The rosewood fingerboard is in good condition. Where this guitar really shines is in its neck profile. It has a 1 23/32" nut width, and a neck profile that measures .84" at the first position tapering up to .98" at the twelfth fret. Comes with the original hardshell case.
