A paramount accomplishment of George C. Dobson, this is a fine example of his Victor Specialty banjo which was often flaunted during live performances and sold to his many students. This example features an 11" head, is fully spun, with light tarnish to metal parts; equipped with repro No Knot tailpiece. 25-1/4" scale dyed pearwood fretboard features diamonds/star inlays, pearwood peghead overlay, mahogany neck; brass pip, likely much later frets with lots of life left. Friction pegs present, on narrow Buckbee hallmark peghead. Plays and sounds very well with hardly any relief; some wear and scratching present on wooden parts.
