Jamie Dougan grew up working in his fathers cabinet shop which specializes in fine architectural millwork. With 20 years of luthier and a lifetime of woodworking experience, Jamie enjoys engineering and fine tuning each part of an instrument to get the best clear timbre and effortless playability.

A warm and punchy tone, it sounds unique yet classic. Lots of sustain, players will be impressed by the instruments definition and projection, all the while with surprising warm basses and complex overtones. Tuned GDAE, it's quite familiar for many players.

His instruments are unique and endlessly impressive in quality both structurally and sonically. The solid spruce top measures 11" at the lower bout, 8" in the upper, with a waist at 6 1/2". It measures 3 5/16" deep at the tailpiece, and 3 1/16" at the heel. An arched, X braced top, with a ladder braced back, the internals of this guitar are just as impressive as the external, with nice care taken on their carving. The top piece of spruce has nice grain spacing, the back and side mahogany having some nice subtle figuring, all finished with a light shellac. Floating two foot ebony bridge, it has a very well made, bent solid brass tailpiece with an ebony edge-piece to help the break angle to the bridge, as well as prevent any metal on metal issues from the strings.

A mahogany neck with Macassar ebony fingerboard, abalone dot inlay and bone nut, it is designed with a 21" scale length with a well made volute. A 1.25" nut width, the neck profile has a "vintage" feel to it, with a slightly thicker depth, and a very slight V feel. It is equipped with a set of Gotoh brass pancake tuners. The builders logo "F" stamp is present on the backside of the headstock.

A nice new molded plastic SKB case is included in the sale.
