Your eyes do not deceive you. The Epiphone brand, while producing guitars with Samick (made in Korea) had in fact made a fairly standard issue Stratocaster from the late 80's through the 1990's. The Batwing / Hockey stick headstock was a nice call back to the Wilshire and like models, but this guitar is through and through a real deal Strat, suitable for any beginner or advancing player looking for the chime and glassy bell tones you can only get on a Strat. Standard setup, it has three single coil pickups, with a 5 way selector, and a two point tremolo system. This particular example is in a nicely creamed white finish, with two ply pickguard. The neck is all maple, with a chunky vintage type feel to it. The frets are in good shape with minimal wear, and the neck is nice and straight yielding low action that measures only about 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret. Standard 25.5" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width. Sadly no whammy bar. An interesting and great option for the Strat enthusiast on a budget.
