Epiphone's professional model built to compete with the Gibson L-5 featuring a flamed maple back and sides, spruce top, symmetrical peghead with vine inlay and block mother of pearl inlays; a fantastic player's instrument, just restored. The non-cutaway body measures 17-1/4" lower out, 12-1/2" upper bout, and is 1-5/16" at its widest point; having just underwent a full restoration, the back was removed/rebound, allowing for portions of the kerfing to be replaced/repaired, fill and finish repair of circular cutouts behind bridge & below treble side F hole from past pickup situations with patches behind, repaired chunk of treble brace, with numerous fabric patches on back of top; bass side bass reproduced (serial number even re-written on), with chunk repaired on original treble brace, w/ original green paper label present; the sides show notable crack/fill repair on the treble side bottom (near supposed jack location) on bass side, and holes from past pickguard; lots of finish checking, crazing, dings, scuffs, scrapes present, with rough edges along back seam, and slight unevenness around new back binding; equipped with later adjustable rosewood bridge, repro gold plated tailpiece (end pin obscures original hole in guitar). The five piece neck has a 25.5" scale length fully bound rosewood fingerboard with large pearl block inlay, 1-3/4" wide bone nut, soft V profile; recent neck reset, refret, rebinding, with heavy finish touchup on heel and peghead, finish was taken down exposing grain on neck (some chips present around heel cap), dovetail was rebuilt; equipped with gold plated Grover Imperial tuners; script Epiphone logo with vine inlaid on peghead overlay with some finish touchup atop securing some dings and scrapes throughout peghead. Included in sale is original brown Lifton hard case, which has notable separation on top/back, with red "velvet" interior and badge on pocket.
