From Illinois banjo innovator Edwin J. Cubley, who was active in the banjo field from about 1880-1893, and was awarded several patents during that time. The spun-over rim assembly measures about 10-1/8" across and is fully laden with original metal hardware, including Cubley's signature rounded shoes and nuts, original tailpiece. The one piece mahogany neck has a 23" scale with gorgeous inlaid marquetry peghead overlay; one replaced tuner. Plays nicely with mild forward bow, with light wear on the probably later frets
