Vega Little Wonder or late period Regent model five string with interesting stamps and features. The lightly stained maple rim assembly measures 10-15/16" in diameter, equipped with four piece flange, Waverly cloud tailpiece, rolled tonering, neck hardware, with glossier two piece maple/laminate resonator (binding on sides, with Vega stamp inside); Little Wonder stamped over Regent stamp (crown present), with #92587 (1927) on rim and dowel, with additional #96262 (1929) on dowel in addition. The 27" scale three piece maple neck has a bound ebony fingerboard with chunky profile, with later geared fifth, offset tab Grover tuners on peghead, with engraved pearl star on peghead; the neck appears to have been refinished long ago, with slightly glossier finish than resonator, long lines of surface checking, dings/chips on back and top edge of peghead, some repairs to binding on either side; 1-1/4" diameter peghead; a nice playing banjo with crisp lows; certainly could remove the resonator/flanges and play open back. Includes later hard case.
