The Santa Cruz String Parabolic Tension (SCSPT) project has been a decade in the making. Commercially available strings were never able to truly complement the complexity of overtones and sustain that Santa Cruz achieves by individually tap tuning and hand voicing each guitar. We therefore sought out the wisdom of our friends and colleagues within the audiological sciences to collaborate on a design that will full drive a Santa Cruz Guitar's complex acoustic tone, while optimizing relative volume (EQ) between strings.Santa Cruz Parabolic Tension Strings are engineered to a carefully calculated progression of tensions to achieve the correct download pressure on each string to optimize the EQ of your instrument.
