A real thumper, a shortly lived Harptone model, made in New Jersey in the early 1970s; tons of mellowness, one of the best sounding acoustic bass guitars we've encountered. The 18" diameter jumbo body's depth tapers from 5-7/8 to 6-3/4" and has mahogany back and sides with black binding, finely grained x braced spruce top, pinned rosewood bridge with bone saddle; past center seam reglue present; lots of dings, scuffs, surface scratching, finish checking. The 31" scale length mahogany neck has a thick rosewood fingerboard, with original only lightly worn frets, large plastic bone nut with 1-15/16" wide nut, with adjustable truss rod, original geared tuners, with cutout peghead, silk screen Harptone logo. Light forward relief present, but plays great with low/medium action. Includes later Harptone branded "slip"
