Since the 1950's, Guild has been well known for high end acoustic guitars. The D-40 Dreadnaught model being one of the popular of the bunch - with the industry standard Solid Sitka top, scalloped sitka X bracing, and all solid Mahogany back & sides - it boasts a powerful bass response, smooth high end, and quite a bit of volume. If the acoustic volume isn't enough, the 40E model features a factory installed LR Baggs Element under saddle pickup. A natural, satin varnish finish is a nice touch that is not seen often for these models.
A huge voice that is all its own, it is maybe one of the most balanced flat tops in the shop - an impressive feat for a dread.
It is designed with a slightly longer 25.6" scale length mahogany neck - complete with a 1 11/16" nut width, 12" radius neck, and comfortable C profile. Vintage details like the open gear tuner with cream buttons round out this vintage inspired dreadnaught.
This recent model has hardly any signs of use from the original owner. Includes the original humi-case.
