Solid, decades old conversion utilizing an original archtop rim assembly, with adapted later Gibson neck. The multi-ply pot is stamped FON 9024-28 (TB-3/1928), equipped with original archtop tonering with interior perforations, dual coordinator rods, original hardware including tube and plate flange, two-legged armrest, five string Presto tailpiece, with single-bound maple resonator bearing chalk marks #8041-45 (TB-3/1925) inside; typical surface scratching and cosmetic wear present, with repaired cracks on outer edge of resonator at 4pm position; one replaced thumb screw. The five string neck appears to be modified Gibson stock from the 50s/60s, having been slimmed down/refinished, fifth string box filled for non-geared fifth, added shims and wedges to fit tube/plate flange under heel. The fiddle cut peghead has an earlier overlay with Mastertone beneath Gibson logo, later truss rod cover screws, with bound rosewood fingerboard w/ large mid-century Gibson frets w/ binding nibs on edges, offset tab geared tuners. Included is long-associated brown Lifton hard case with brown interior.
