Perhaps a "one-off", we've been unable to find out more about this unique banjo, which has a maker stamp "Gary Merideth, Blackstar" inside the blonde rim assembly. The standard sized pot has a no hole flat head tonering, with tube and plate flange, Oettinger style five string tailpiece, two-footed armrest, with birdseye maple resonator (black binding with two concentric circles on back). The three piece maple neck is of flamed maple, with a 26-1/4" scale ebony fingerboard, 1-5/16" wide nut; extremely gorgeous inlay on the fretboard and peghead overlay combining bone and pearl with delicate engraving in Vega style with large flower pot on peghead; equipped with Five star geared tuners with sliding Shubb fifth string cap. Some finish checking present on back of neck, with minimal fret wear, some scuffs on back of resonator.
