A rare guitar, ready to weep...
Likely a first year of production, with an accurate 1987 serial number, this BB King signature is constructed out of high grade & rare Walnut. The cool ES-355 shape sports no F holes, as per the King's preference, while retaining the chambered construction and resonance one would enjoy in its sister 335.
As mentioned, the body is built with a stunning one piece laminate walnut top and back. Cream multi ply binding, this guitar looks classic, and plays & sounds great. It is constructed with the Gibson standard 24.75" scale length.
The three piece neck, appears to be made of maple with a dark matched stain to the walnut. A nice bound and nibbed ebony fingerboard elegant block Mother of Pearl inlay and a brass nut. The nut width measures
An elaborate and unique setup, it sports the Lucille custom Vairtone wiring scheme, with all the electronics untouched by the previous owner. Original gold Patent stamped humbuckers are present. Gold hardware, it sports the Gibson USA TP-6 tailpiece with fine tuners which look great and function as they should. The original bound pickguard is in great shape. All original plastics, this guitar was very well maintained with only subtle wear to some of its Phillips head screws likely due to its pickguard beginning to off gas while in its case.
Meticulously crafted, and well preserved, this is a great example with hardly a mark on it - suitable for any collector.
Includes original hardshell case.
Weighs 9.25 lbs.
