Well, this is maybe the cutest little drip edge we've ever seen! The term "drip edge" refers to the silver piping used alongside the grill baffle. This line of amplifiers marked Fenders transition to their silver face plate designs from the previous black face plate - a change that certainly signified the distinction between pre-CBS ownership. The keen Fender historian eye would notice that the tube chart of this amp, and many other drip edges, share the same schematic design of their black faceplate counter parts - in this instance the AA764 design. This design is a smaller one for the Fender lineup - a single 8" speaker running a low 6 watts makes sense that Fender continued the tradition of their Champ design - but this time with onboard tremolo or "vibrato" as it was misnamed. This amp comes to us in excellent condition. Cosmetically this amp shows only very mild tolex wear. Sonically it has a smooth beautiful break up - perfect for recording with a super musical EQ. The onboard tremolo functions as it should, from super subtle to choppy. This example has been fully serviced by local amp legend John Nau. It retains original transformers, and even Fender branded Oxford speaker, all appropriately dated to 1968-69. Replaced caps and new IEC present courtesy of Nau.
