The Fender Tremolux Piggby back is a highly regarded vintage amplifier from the Fender lineup - offering around 30-40 watts of power, with the 6G9-A schematic featuring two 6L6 power amp tubes. Loud and overall fairly clean, it has an "it" factor to it, that functions well in a lot of contexts, while also being a good platform for pedals. This example comes to us in great condition, superbly maintained for the right player. This original cabinet has been expertly re-tolex'd, which is really only evident when taking the amplifier apart, where one can see the shadow line of the original. It has the original bottom positioned tube chart which is fairly worn. Internally, it has had its electronics overhauled with new caps and resistors - the dog house now populating a set of Sprague Atoms. Original Schumacher transformers and choke all present, stamped accurately to mid '61. Original Fender stamped brown rubber dog bone handle. Oxblood grill cloth appears in great condition, which *may* have been replaced, given the tolex, but again, the workmanship is fantastic. Matched JJ tube set. The closed back cabinets on these models would host a few different speaker configurations, this having what is presumably the original 12" baffle. While not having the original speaker, this is outfitted with a very nice Warehouse G12C (rated 75W at 8ohms). Includes Studio Slips covers for both head + cabinet
