A cool players grade 70's Tele should be in every collection. This one is ready to rip and is quite the shredder... This 1978 Fender Tele has basically had the works of player modifications - seen here thanks to Dax & Co Modern Guitar Designs. Refinished in super cool Sonic Blue nitro that has been nicely relic'd it is quite the looker with its well aged original neck. A Trem King tremolo system replaced an old added Floyd Rose system. The neck has been touched up, with two dowels and some extra maple to fix up the old locking nut system. The body is nice and resonant, the finish very thin allowing the grain to show through slightly. The body has been routed for the past history of tremolo units, as mentioned, with a newer Trem King that feels a bit like a Jazzmaster with decent range of motion in both directions. Fender Noiseless pickups have been added which sound nice - offering up a fairly modern tone without excessive ground hum. The neck is the real deal here, a nice feeling well worn Maple neck with all the appropriate stamps at the heel (the neck pocket of the body correct with two extra holes). The neck appears to have some added tint to the old poly mostly notable towards the heel. More importantly it feels great - a bit speedy with a profile that measures .85" in thickness at the first position tapering to about .95" at the twelfth - a standard 1 5/8" nut width that's been worn down about a 1/32" or so. Jumbo frets show virtually no wear. The neck is nice and straight with low action that measures about 5/64" in height at the twelfth fret. A nice newer Fender tweed case is include in the sale.
