Constructed by esteemed maker Douglas Unger around 2005, from a series of banjos inspired by the dogwood inlayed Regent banjos of the A. C. Fairbanks Company, both extremely rare and sought after by players and collectors. The rim is an original 1918, 10-1/8 inch Tubaphone Style S pot, featuring all original hardware including bracket band, notched tension hoop, but for a repro No Knot tailpiece; Unger's engraved pearl plaque present on dowel; light wear on back of pot. Bespoke/stunning 26" scale mahogany neck, with carved heel in the style of the classic Tubaphone No. 3, with exceptional engraved pearl inlay on board, with a large dogwood flower in the peghead w/ surrounding embellishments, Regent Crowns on either side of nut, delicate butterfly and vine present on long backstrap. The neck has a 1-5/16" nut width, beefy profile, and is fully bound with scalloped nut, and equipped with five star planets.
