Used, but very hard to tell, this D'Angelico Excel-59 is a superb jazz box on a budget!
John D’Angelico’s original archtop design is legend, and the Excel 59 is its modern-day counterpart. The 16" wide body (1.75" deep), while this provides a surprising amount of acoustic volume - it shines it's Seymour Duncan Great Dane P90's. Nice warm clarity, with enough rasp to push some blues and soul - this guitar has a fantastic voice. Balanced definition for the most complex chords, this guitar plays and sounds great, with low action that measures about 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret. Art Deco appointments from the skyscraper truss rod cover, down to the stair step tailpiece - this is a mighty attractive instrument with a fine attention to detail.
This comes to us in great condition from the previous owner, with hardly a mark on it. It looks fantastic without a scratch on it, and has clean frets to boot! The imperial style tuners function as they should, and this guitar is ready for its next chapter!
Includes a nicely upgraded hardshell case. Weighs 7 lbs.
