This is an example of the work of Charles Paddock, a Lancaster NY based expert luthier and mechanical engineer who constructed a small number of professional grade stringed instruments from 2010-2016, including archtop guitars, flat top guitars, electric guitar and banjos. We present the only classical guitar constructed by Mr. Paddock offered for sale with lovely rich tone and impressive dynamic capabilities.
Designed with a 648mm scale, it is constructed with a marquetry bound cedar top, and a back that appears to be made of cypress, nicely book-matched, with similar straight grained back and sides. A modern take on a traditional design, its interior is built with solid kerfing and nice light 6 fanned braces. The slightly large, modernized neck features a nice & convenient bolt-on design. It's lower bout measures 362mm wide, with an upper bout at about 280mm, and a depth of 95mm.
The Mahogany neck has a nice rosewood fingerboard, with slightly larger than normal frets which respond nicely. A slightly wider 54mm nut width, it has a comfortable profile, especially for those with slightly larger hands. It is outfitted with high quality gold plated and engraved geared tuners. Rosewood bridge present with corian edges on either end of saddle.
Cosmetically its very clean with only light surface scratches on the finish, and a small imperfection of the top wood behind the bridge. Comes with a poly foam case.
