What started as a custom Carvin, was meticulously finessed into a fine spin/replica of Jerry Garcia's famous electric. Tiger appearance with a Lightning Bolt at the peg head overlay, this is a very well made player.
Two pieces of hard to obtain Koa wood wood flank the center 5 piece Maple and Koa neck. Expertly cut with nice corners and rounded edges its easy to sit with, and is cosmetically in great shape with a lightly thicker gloss finish that is in very good shape. Brass pickup mounting ring, it matches well with the original Alembic bridge and saddle. This guitar is setup with three well matched Dimarzio Super Distortions, the full OBEL (On Board Effects Loop), and even Custom Audio Electronics John Cutler (CAE) CB2 Buffer circuit - just like the real deal. Ebony knobs, 5 way switch, mini toggle for Effects loop on/off, coil tapping and Buffer give ultimate versatility.
The neck has a 25.5" scale length, joining at the body at19th fret, making upper register access a breeze. Huge side dots, the ebony fingerboard board is nicely bound, the frets all in nice clean condition. Matching brass nut and equipped with Nickel Schaller tuners. The neck is comfortable for those to a bit of heft, the nut width measuring 1 23/32", with the depth at .84" at the first position with a very slim taper up to about .89" at the twelfth - making it a bit speedy.
