Phenomenal player's instrument in both looks and tone, a sort of "budget" Whyte Laydie No. 7 with slightly less appointments, recently converted. The unmarked 26-1/4" scale three piece curly maple neck features a fully bound and extended ebony fingerboard with finely executed engraved pearl inlay work on the board, peghead overlay/backstrap, and slightly larger heel cap; excellent decorative carved heel, with multiple laminations beneath cap; equipped with Planetary style geared tuners, with 1-9/32" width at nut; unfortunately this neck is unsigned, but plays well despite some forward bow. The 10-3/4" diameter Eastman Whyte Laydie rim assembly has been stained to match the neck, and is a fine reproduction featuring a grooved tension hoop, closed end nuts, long ferrule, and scalloped Electric/Whyte Laydie tonering. Some cosmetic wear present on NOS neck, including minimal dings/scratches on board/back.
