Re-popularized in the garage rock revival, Teisco guitars hold a certain quality that charms every player and even many collectors.
The "Sharkfin" ET-230 model is a solid body featuring sharp Jetson's-esque aesthetic, flashy red finish complimented by its silver metal pickguard. Color coded switches engage each pickup, with a tone cap for ryhthm and "solo" modes. Volume controls for each pickup as well as a master tone. This example does not have the whammy bar, but one could explore putting the system back together if they were so inclined. Mustang style bridge. The pickups are definitely jangly and aggressive, the sound that these are so well known for.
Bolt on neck design, it has a 24.75" scale with a zero fret, the offset style body giving the impression that the neck is a bit longer (it joins at the body at the 16th fret). The neck has a thin C profile with a 1 5/8" nut width. This one has been refretted fairly well, with a few high spots that could be addressed with a level crown and polish. Overall, it has a charmingly trash-y playability that feels "right" for this guitar, but one that could be made better if deemed by the next owner. Original tuners are in good working order still with their shiney chrome plating.
Includes basic gig bag.
