Standel Super Imperial XV 2x15" JBL (ca.1965)

Standel amps are a stand out amongst collectors, and certainly players who are fortunate enough to give them a spin. Players like Wes Montgomery and Frank Zappa being stand out players who championed these early boutique amplifiers.

The S115R Super Imperial is a super powered solid state amplifier, boasting about 140 watts of power through two JBL D-130 15" speakers. A large cabinet, these aren't for the faint of heart - weighing in at about 100lbs standing 43" tall. Early germanium transistor design, it has an impressive tone with a ton of volume, and broad EQ sweep. Onboard reverb and tremolo, this is a good contender to take on a Fender Showman amplifier.

Cosmetically this amp is in great condition from the original owner, having been stored in a storage unit for some time. Functionally the amp acts just as it should, with a bit of noise from the pots when turned. The tremolo and reverb both are functioning, but unfortunately this does not include the original footswitch.
