The Silvertone 1485 was the largest and most powerful amp even offered for sale by Sears. This monster stack delivers 120 watts of power into six 10” Jensen speakers. The 'piggy back' design of this amp allows the head to be tucked into the base of the cab for easy transportation. Silvertone amps are synonymous with garage rock and have been seen on stage with the Velvet Underground and Jack White. They continue to be a great alternative to Fender amps of the same era.
This Silvertone comes to us in good condition, with some wear on the tolex. Recently serviced, it has a fresh quartet of 6L6 tubes installed and has had the tremolo circuit re-built. The reverb is non-functioning, and unfortunately the reverb units cannot be repaired without major modifications. Otherwise it is in excellent working condition, and runs surprisingly clean with some breakup possible at higher volumes.
