Faithful reproduction of a ca. 1830s Louis Panormo guitar, from a Limited Edition collaborative effort of Rochester luthiers Bernie Lehmann and Jeff Cole, built in 2018. Based on measurements made by Lehmann from an original example prior to museum exhibition, the instrument even features a beautiful 5-ply birch replica coffin case. The parlor sized body has a 17-3/8” overall length, 11-5/16” wide lower bout, 8-1/4” wide upper bout; French polished Brazilian rosewood back/sides, with a bee’s wax finished/fan-braced Sitka spruce top; the rosette features pearl inlay and fine lines of circular marquetry matching the top-trim/back strip, with period pearl-inlaid ebony “mustache” bridge w/ graphite saddle; inside the builder’s label is visible, along with a reproduction Panormo label; equipped with carved fossil mammoth strap buttons. The ebonized mahogany neck has a 24.75” scale length Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, with EVO gold fretwire, with 1.88” width at bone nut, Spanish heel construction, with graphite reinforcement; flared shaped slotted peghead with engraved raw brass geared tuners/ebony buttons.
