A fantastic guitar built by J. Perfecto Rubio of Paracho Mexico - son of Manuel Rubio & cousin to Vazquez Rubio. A celebrated family of luthiers, these professional level instruments are well priced alternatives all while being hand constructed with excellent commitment to fine tonewoods and craftsmanship.
Sonically this is an impressive guitar, even in its young age. While this guitar is still opening up tonally, it has good volume and a bright and balanced sonic structure that has a bit of the three dimensionality we all love from a SP/RW combination.
This example dates only to April of 2026, having not been played by the original owner. It is constructed with a 360 mm lower bout, 235 mm waist, 280 mm upper bout - with a depth of about 95mm at the base and 92mm near the heel. Internally it has a standard 7 fan brace pattern. The thin German spruce (Pino Abeto Aleman) soundboard has a golden nitro satin finish with a finely made decorative rosette. The double hole bridge is made of indian rosewood - this instrument including two carved saddles depending on the players preference / season. The back is made of well figured Mexican rosewood, well book matched - with a light nitro finish.
The neck as mentioned is designed with a slightly smaller 640mm scale length, comfortable for nearly any player either looking for a longer finger spread or with smaller hands - the nut width measuring about 51.3mm. The neck is constructed with Spanish cedar with a darker wood center strip, the fingerboard made of African ebony. High quality Der Jung tuners function and look great.
Includes original poly foam case.
