With strong projection and eclipsing crispiness, this oval hole Artist model shipped in 1937 per 93158 serial number, and is a worthy instrument for the discerning player or collector. The fully carved F style body is totally bound, with a straight grained spruce top w/ light sunburst, fancy rosette, maple back and sides with gorgeous two piece flamed stock on back; equipped with original engraved tailpiece cover, adjustable ebony bridge (previously lowered with patent stamp slightly obscured), missing pickguard; lots of cosmetic wear present, dings, scrapes, but no cracks present on body; replaced section of binding on bass side of neck behind 12th fret. The one piece neck has a newer ebony fingerboard w/ added radius and pointed extension and plays very evenly; later 1950s era Gibson tuners present; adjustable truss rod; minor repaired heel crack is stable and hard to notice. 1-3/16" wide nut, 14" scale length. Included in sale is original Red Line hard case (some exterior fading and wear but fully functional)
