JUNE….WEDDINGS, GRADUATIONS, GARDENS AND JAZZ
June 1st, 2026
Good morning friends,
June is perhaps the best month for great weather in the Northeast. The daytime is longer with warm, comfortable temperatures and cool, fragrant nights. It is the time of planting gardens, graduations, picnics, music festivals, and, of course, weddings. Additionally, our biggest sale of the year takes place in June during the Rochester International Jazz Festival, June 19-27th. The lineup for the festival is always spectacular, and this year looks to be one of the best ever. We look forward to seeing old friends, such as as Jerron Paxton, Stephane Wrembel, Matt Munisteri (with Catherine Russell), The Campbell Brothers and many more. Of course, it is always the acts which you don’t know going into the festival that you come out singing great praise. The promoters of the festival have a knack at finding talent that will become famous. Additionally, the lineup seems to be featuring many more local performers, and the talent in Rochester is abundant. It should be a great time and we will be open for extended hours the entire festival.
On Saturday, Julie and I attended the wedding of Sam Hirsh and Alex Northrup. Sammy has been working for us for a few years now and he is our expert on amplification, electronics and keyboards as well as doing all of the photography for our website. His knowledge has added to the value of our business because he understands things that we have no clue about. He has given us the ability to purchase interesting equipment and to maintain our own equipment. He is a gem and he is highly valued as a member of our staff. Our own Ryan Yarmel performed the ceremony and it was beautifully orchestrated on a crystal clear day overlooking Lake Ontario. In today’s world it is joyous to come together to celebrate our differences rather than use them to divide and distract us.
With peace,
JB
The White House Lodge at Webster Park on the edge of the great Lake Ontario was the site for the wedding
Keuka Lake is minuscule compared to Lake Ontario, but it is our home and we hope to be spending quite a bit of time there this summer
on Sunday we had an impromptu get together with my son Jay, his wife Taylor and their three children as well as my daughter Kara and her husband, Michael. We all met at the great Abandoned Brewery for some beer and wood fired pizza.
