We are honored to host talented banjoist Wes Corbett for a three finger style banjo workshop The Genius of J.D. Crowe and an Intro to Single String. In this workshop we'll take a look at one of Wes' favorite JD Crowe breaks, what makes it so amazing, and why he makes the choices he does. We'll also dive into single string playing in both technique and application with a simple fiddle tune. 

Wes has performed with many of the most influential acoustic musicians of our time, including Mike Marshall, Darol Anger, Sarah Jarosz, Sierra Hull, Bruce Molsky, Robert Earl Keen, Tony Trischka, Molly Tuttle, and Laurie Lewis (among many others), as well as touring internationally with the Indie-Popgrass band Joy Kills Sorrow.  From 2011-2015 Wes was the professor of banjo at Berklee School of Music in Boston M.A.  He now lives in Nashville TN and plays in the Molly Tuttle Band.

Wes Corbett and Simon Chrisman (hammer dulcimer) will perform as a duo at the Kanack School on Saturday 10/20 at 7:30PM. Tickets are $12 (DOOR) $10 (ADV) $8 (STUDENT) Workshop Attendees can attend for FREE

Simon Chrisman will host a hammer dulcimer workshop on Saturday 10/20 at the Kanack School at 4:30PM for $25
