Phil Shapiro and Carrie Shore  offer an unusual and delightful program of American folk music, old and new. They choose fascinating, energetic  songs from the last couple of hundred years of American traditional folk song, and add newer songs written squarely in the folk tradition. Phil is a fine guitar player, and Carrie is an accomplished fiddler, and together they encourage audiences far and wide to join them in singing these truly American songs.

Opening the evening will be a set by local performer Laurence Sugarman. Laurence is one of the area’s most creative clawhammer banjo players, and he plays and sings both traditional and original songs to audiences all over the world.
