This is an exquisite Kamaka "Ohta San" Deluxe concert ukulele, made in Hawaii. The ukulele was purchased new in 2013 and the original owner kept it in pristine condition. The body is referred to as "bell shaped" and is constructed of highly flamed Koa wood with rope binding around the top and sound hole. Other features included ebony fretboard, Gotoh planetary tuners and original deluxe case. It is currently set up with a low G 4th string. The original warranty card and hangtag are in the case. This model was first designed in 1965 by Sam Kamaka Jr. and Herbert Ohta. It produces clear, projecting tones with surprising warmth and resonance. It was designed primarily for picking purposes.
