Gretsch is known far and wide for models like the Country Gentleman and White Falcon, but the lesser known Single Anniversary is a simple, elegant hollow body with gorgeous resonance and a variety of sonic options thanks to its neck-position Hi-Lo'Tron pickup. This guitar features 24.75" scale length, 1-11/16" nut width, and the action measures 4/64" at the 12th fret (currently set up with .010s/wound 3rd string). The neck is overall very straight, no significant deviation from what is typical and the truss rod functions correctly. The binding is deteriorating, which is extremely typical of guitars (in particular, Gretsch guitars) of this era, but is overall still intact (see photos). The electronics are smooth and clean, and all three positions of the selector yield great, warm tones, with the full-range sound having plenty of crisp trebles. A funny mod, the banjo mute pictured on the strings between the bridge and tailpiece serves to dampen some of the resonance that emanates from that area. The original tailpiece for this guitar unfortunately gave out after years of play, and a repro has been added (original still in case). No other modifications have been made, with the exception of a new strap button on the lower bout. Includes original grey hardshell case. If you want an affordable, vintage guitar with plenty of pizzaz that's suitable for a wide variety of genres, look no further!
