Blues and Roots with Gordon Munding
Friday Aug 28th, 5:30-6PM, $5
Taking part in Geva Theatre Center’s Blues festival in honor of Son House (www.gevatheatre.org/journey-to-the-son-2), Gordon Munding will present an acoustic Blues and Roots concert at Bernunzio’s!
He’ll feature “Bottleneck slide” and other traditional techniques on his guitars.
In 2006 Gordon started a weekly tribute to Delta blues legend Son House (who was rediscovered living in Rochester N.Y. in the 60’s). This jam continues today, almost 10 years later, as part of Rochester’s current exciting Blues and Roots scene.
Gordon has opened for many national acts, (including John Hammond, John Mooney and Doc Watson). He’s fronted local & regional bands, including Blue Delta, and most recently The Crawdiddies (www.thecrawdiddies.com)
Gordon currently performs solo, and teaches blues in workshops, festivals and schools.
He's become a favorite at Bernunzio's for teaching slide guitar along with Genesee Johnny.
