Long noted for the famous "Eclipse" model banjos which were favored by professional players and often featured exquisite designs of mother of pearl.come this Neapolitan style mandolin. It is a survivor of a time long past. With the advent of carved top instruments, the "bowl back" was often shelved in favor of the louder Gibsons. This has led to these mandolins being one of the most reasonably priced vintage instruments on the market. This "Imperial" model features 20 rosewood ribs all in good working order. The top is spruce and shows wear but is ornamented with a lovely inlaid pickguard with the classic Cole "butterfly" inlay. Plays reasonably well.
