Rick Turner, the luthier responsible for some fine instruments used by the likes of Lindsay Buckingham & John Entwistle, introduced his Renaissance line of basses nearly twenty years ago showcasing the instruments sonic versatility. Suitable for a "renaissance" type of player ready for any gig, the Renaissance bass is a four string with a 34" scale length, that can go from realistic upright sounds to cutting rock tones with ease.
With its traditional and otherwise simple appearance, this bass can cover all bases without being overly flashy. The D-Tar preamp & Turner Timberline piezo system work wonders for dialing in any sound with ease. All the while, the construction is top grade and this instrument is road ready for years and years to come.
This example appears to be built out with a Walnut body, with a bolt on Maple neck with Ipe fingerboard (very similar to rosewood). Currently strung with Thomastick half wounds, this bass plays with ease and the neck is straight yielding easy to play action and a clean fretboard. Cosmetically this example in great shape, with very little sign of use from its previous owner. Includes a newer hardshell case.
