This is an extremely rare and very elegant banjo of "presentation" quality by this Boston company. The banjo features a fairly simple 11 inch spunover rim and a mahogany neck that has one of the most beautifully engraved pearl that we have ever seen. It covers the entire fingerboard and terminates in double dragons at the end of the rim. It is from the esteemed collection of Akira Tsumura, and pictured in his book 1001 Banjos and is featured on page 140. There is a repaired heel crack that was done long ago and some touch up to the neck but overall it is very fine and certainly a rare rare instrument. The neck plays ok BUT, there is a long, forward bow.
