Brian Setzer approved! The Gretsch model 6120-SSU is truly a player favorite, offering up the finger pickin' tone that can go from jazz to country to pop, effortlessly. This fantastic looking and playing example dates to 1996 when the brand had reissued this model. A nice deep orange finish compliments the stunning flame in its top and back. Laminate built, this guitar has a really classic tone suitable for any chicken pickin' jazzer. Speedy, this guitar has nice low action and plays great with low miles overall, even for an instrument dating about 30 years old. Some player upgrades appear to have happened, including the nickel Bigsby (this model would come standard with a Bigsby, but typically a gold option), which also sports the TK Smith inspired tremolo arm. Adjustable bridge, there is plenty of room on the saddle for future adjustments. Gold Filtertron Patent pickups are inspiring and very classic. Upgraded locking satin chrome Sperzel tuners function just as they should. This guitar includes the original pickguard, without the mounting bracket. The action is super easy measuring a low 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret, and compliments the speedy slimmer C profile. Very clean frets and ebony fingerboard. A small chip has in the 15th fret inlay (see photo). Although used, its a pretty clean example, with some light surface scratches, and overall low play wear present. Includes the original hardshell case!
