Checking in and a mere 120 years old, this eminently playable and professional banjo by the A. C. Fairbanks of Boston, MA. This instrument is from the third year of production for this revolutionary model. The power of the white lady, Tom ring and ring construction put other banjos to shame. This example is an unusual professional size with 11.5 inch annd 27.5 inch scal. It retains most original parts: tuners, head, elite tailpiece. The neck is straight and true, and the instrument is a good player. The neck appears to have been refinished long long ago. This banjo is from the collection of Mr. Akira Tsumura, and his featured on page 904 of the book 1001 Banjos.
