WM Schmick Lyric #1 Tenor Banjo

  • Very Good + Condition
  • Year: circa 1920s
  • Includes Soft Shell Case

William Schmick Camden NJ Lyric label, perhaps constructed by Vega, this is a very interesting tenor banjo with original top tension design and closed back, maple construction with a rosewood binding. A subtle flame in the pot indicates the care that was put into these builds. It is designed with a 20" scale length and 19 frets. A 9" head with an integrated resonator makes for a sweet tone that is perfect for swing. A more simple model, this has a blank peg head and MOP dot inlays. Recent 5 Star planetary tuners installed, and missing its tailpiece cover. Neck is straight and plays with low action, but does have some expected fret wear at the first position. Comes with a recent gig bag.
