William Schmick Camden NJ Lyric label, possibly constructed by Vega, this is a very interesting plectrum banjo with original top tension design and closed back, maple construction with a rosewood binding. This example sports a noticeable flame in the pot which indicates the care that was put into these builds. It is designed with a 27" scale length and 23 frets. A 9.75" head with an integrated resonator makes for a punchy and warm tone, which is complimented by its current nylon setup. There are some cracks in the face of the resonator, mainly one parallel to the first string by the tailpiece. Likely a mid level model, this has a simple MOP dot inlay, with a star at the 5th and a diamond at the 10th. It has the original lyre inlay at the peg head, which is in excellent shape. Original tuners present, and an older no knot tailpiece. Neck is straight and plays with low action. Overall the frets are in great shape, but do show some expected wear, nothing problematic with the nylon setup. Comes with the original hardshell case
