Little is known about the origin of this unique banjo apart from basic information about its namesake, Glasgow-based teacher/performer Elizabeth Buchanan. Mahogany neck with slotted peghead and six tuners; gorgeous long heel carving and peghead ornamentation; fifth string is routed through a small metal capo on side then makes its way the the tuner; gorgeous original pearl buttons present on original tuners. All metal rim not dissimilar in design to Leedy; unique dowel stick angle adjuster. All original hardware including tailpiece. Currently setup as a 6 string; the neck has a twist to the left and some forward relief, but plays surprisingly well.
