W. Temlett "Ajax" Seven String

  • Excellent Condition
  • Year: 1890
  • No Case
  • Serial #: 1758

Extremely unusual; attributed to maker Wm. Temlett of London, this is a seven string banjo ready for action. The rim assembly is spun-over, has a 12" diameter; all hardware appears original. The neck was made from chin chan (Thai rosewood), and the ebony fingerboard measures 18-3/4" from nut to rim edge; fine and fancy pearl inlay present; 1-11/16" nut width. Equipped with ebony pegs on box, and grained ivoroid fricton peg. Light forward relief, but banjo plays well.
