This is a later period, top of the line original five string from the famous Boston company, decades after their purchase of A. C. Fairbanks serial number 59252 circa 1923. The neck, with 27" scale, is of intensely grained maple and ornamented with engraved mother of pearl inlay on the ebony fretboard, with a lovely flower pot on the overlay; thick floral heel carving. The rim is 10-15/16" in diameter, with thick bands of marquetry on the rim cap, and tortoise binding; equipped with original pre war planet tuners and later geared fifth tuner. Condition wise, there is finish wear, dings and scratches on the neck and rim, with light forward relief on the neck.
