Incredibly rare and near mint example of a Vega Professional five-string serial #87922 ca. 1929 purchased from the family of the original owner (a dance-band guitar/banjoist) who bought the instrument new from British Vega distributer Boosey & Hawkes; this instrument shows virtually no wear apart from minor finish checking and dings on the resonator. The 10-15/16" rim assembly is equipped with the perforated Tubaphone tonering, all matching stamps present (stick is stamped Tubaphone No. 3); four-piece flange; pie-plate resonator w/ added spruce resonating plate in the interior; equipped with Vega armrest, original five string Presto tailpiece. The three-piece mahogany neck has a 27" scale length, detailed/deep heel carving, ebony fingerboard with pearl position markers and a star; equipped with original Grover two-tab geared tuners friction fifth tuner. included in sale is original hard case (wrench included!)
