A high-grade Tubaphone No. 9 original tenor banjo from the Vega company; plays and sounds very well in its original hard case. The rim assembly measures 10-15/16 and is equipped with the perforated Tubaphone tonering; beautifully engraved tension hoop and individual flanges with original gold plating; gold-plated Oettinger tailpiece; pie-plate resonator with engraved tortoise outer side walls. The flamed maple neck has 19 frets and a 23" scale length ebony fingerboard; fancy engraved pearl present on ebony fingerboard and on peghead overlay; fingerboard has been refretted and rebound, and neck was oversprayed; some finish wear and checking present; original gold-plated Planet tuners w/ large pearl buttons.
